[00:57.46]But a few years ago
[00:59.06]A motion picture version appeared
[01:00.53]Of Sophocles immortal tragedy Oedipus Rex
[01:04.08]This picture
[01:04.83]Played only in the so-called art theaters
[01:06.54]And it was not a financial success
[01:08.88]And I maintain that the reason it was
[01:11.21]Not a financial success
[01:17.84]You're way ahead of me was
[01:22.24]That it did not have a title tune
[01:25.30]Which the people could Hum
[01:33.95]And which would make them actually eager to attend
[01:36.06]This particular flick
[01:37.42]So I've attempted to supply this
[01:41.43]And here then is the prospective title song

[01:51.57]There's one theme that we find right along
[01:54.52]Of all ideals they hail as good
[01:56.95]The most sublime is motherhood
