Rusty Cage, Vol. 3: Crowley (Explicit)

When planning this album, I wanted to experiment with genres. Having always been a fan of folk and blues, the inclusion of acoustic instruments would set the foundation for these songs. The next step would be writing them in a way that I could invite in my interest in hip-hop music. At first I had no idea if it would be possible to blend these genres together, but over countless nights of trial and error, I was able to create an album that fluently expresses all of these styles without excluding listeners who know me for my more singer-songwriter origin. Through it's dark lyrics and raw instrumentals,"Crowley" creates an intense atmosphere of infectious emotions. These songs involve themes of morbid nihilism, societal destruction, self doubt, and religious cult practices. While infusing the traditional sounds of americana with the bold intensity of hip-hop, thus so was the birth of"Crowley". Special thanks to Chris Chaires for providing live drums for"Bone to Pick" and"What They Said", as well as mastering this album.
